GIZ RFPI Asia III – TYM Microinsurance Video provides a snapshot of the development of risk protection through microinsurance for the poor and low-income members of the Vietnam Women’s Union. The development of microinsurance in Vietnam is initiated through the members of TYM (Tao Yeu May Fund) which implements the Vietnamese Government’s poverty alleviation program for women, upon the guidance of the Ministry of Finance. Through this partnership, an awareness campaign on the impacts of climate change is also implemented with the Vietnam Women’s Union to explain the role of microinsurance in protecting low income and poor members of the Vietnam Women’s Union, and their families.
MicroDRI Project Overview details the partnership among GIZ RFPI Asia III, AXA Philippines, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions (CLIS) on the creation and promotion of a Disaster Risk Insurance product for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). GIZ RFPI Asia III is working with AXA to develop a Micro Disaster Risk Insurance product for MSMEs, supported by DTI, with product distribution by CLIS.
GIZ RFPI Asia III partnered with the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (FRC) and four private insurance companies in Mongolia, for the development of inclusive insurance products for low income people. Ulaanbaatar City Insurance (UBCI) is one of the private insurance partners that have benefited from its membership in the Mutual Exchange Forum on Inclusive Insurance Network (MEFIN Network). UBCI has developed a home insurance product using its learnings from the MEFIN Network, supported by FRC regulation, through its cooperation with GIZ RFPI Asia III.
